You can also find bi-color (e.g., red and green) or even RGB dot matrix displays, which can display any color and have up to 192 LEDs in a single package.

In this section, you'll learn to use a standard single-color 8x8 dot matrix display to display images and text. You'll start with a simple example of creating an animated image on an 8x8 display and then move on to more complex projects. Along the way, you'll learn the concept of multiplexing.
